[ˊpledʒǝvǝˊli:dʒǝns] клятва верности флагу Соединённых Штатов. Произносится наизусть учащимися школ при подъёме флага в начале каждого школьного дня: «Обязуюсь хранить верность флагу Соединённых Штатов Америки и Республике, которую он олицетворяет, единой перед Богом, неделимой, свободной и справедливой ко всем» [‘I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all’].
